About the position

Join GE Vernova, where our mission is to electrify and decarbonize the world. As part of our powerful team, you will engage in a variety of projects that focus on the design and integration of mechanical components for aeroderivative gas turbines. This role is pivotal in executing designs for new product introductions, ensuring reliability and maintainability, and supporting customer needs through customized requisitions and services. You will work on projects that involve the design of fuel systems, auxiliary skids, lubrication systems, and other essential process systems that facilitate the operation of gas turbines. Your contributions will span mechanical system-level designs and detailed component designs, including heavy structures, piping, inlets, exhausts, enclosures, and plant layouts. In this internship, you will familiarize yourself with Aero products and work on assignments that challenge your learning and skillset. You will report your progress to project management, perform time estimates for project features, and apply your academic knowledge to deliver positive outcomes. Your role will involve providing engineering support while adhering to business standards and product requirements, ensuring that you contribute effectively to the success of our team.

Responsibilities

  • Familiarize with Aero products and their applications.
  • Work on assignments/projects within engineering & technology to enhance learning and skillset.
  • Report progress and status to project management.
  • Perform rough estimates of time required to implement features and assist in task prioritization.
  • Utilize academic knowledge to complete assigned projects and deliver positive outcomes.
  • Provide support to assigned projects using engineering principles and adhere to business standards and product requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (without rounding).
  • Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Enrolled in a full-time matriculated and nationally accredited program.
  • Completed at least two full years of college.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships.
  • Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.
