About the position

Join GE Vernova, where our mission is to electrify and decarbonize the world. As part of our Aero engineering team, you will engage in a variety of projects that include the design of mechanical components and system integration for aeroderivative packages. This role involves working on new product introductions, reliability and maintainability initiatives, and customized requisitions, all aimed at supporting the operation of aeroderivative gas turbines. You will be responsible for the design and structural interpretation of heavy structures, piping, inlets, exhausts, enclosures, bases, and plant layouts. Your contributions will be vital in executing designs that lead the energy transition and support our commitment to sustainability. In this internship, you will familiarize yourself with Aero products and work on assignments that will stretch your learning and skillset. You will report progress to project management and perform rough estimates of time required to implement features, aiding in task prioritization. Your academic knowledge will be applied to complete assigned projects, ensuring positive outcomes and contributing to the success of our team. You will provide support to assigned projects using engineering principles while adhering to business standards and product requirements. This internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment while contributing to meaningful projects that have a global impact.

Responsibilities

  • Familiarize with Aero products and their applications.
  • Work on assignments/projects within engineering & technology to enhance learning and skillset.
  • Report progress and status to project management.
  • Perform rough estimates of time required to implement features to resolve issues and assist in task prioritization.
  • Utilize academic knowledge to complete assigned projects and deliver positive outcomes.
  • Provide support to assigned projects using engineering principles and adhere to business standards, practices, and product requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (without rounding).
  • Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Enrolled in a full-time matriculated and nationally accredited program.
  • Completed at least two full years of college.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships.
  • Must be willing to work in the geographical area specified by the business.
  • Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.
