About the position

As a Gas Power Co-op/Intern at GE Vernova, you will be immersed in a dynamic environment focused on manufacturing and supply chain processes that are critical to delivering cleaner and more efficient energy solutions. This internship is designed to prepare you for a rewarding career in the energy sector, where you will tackle significant challenges related to energy accessibility and sustainability. You will engage in various responsibilities that include evaluating and improving manufacturing processes, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving productivity savings through effective material management. Your role will involve working closely within a manufacturing setting to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance production quality. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies to foster continuous improvement in production areas. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain and enhance your technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures related to the safe and effective use of production equipment. This internship will not only provide you with hands-on experience but also allow you to contribute to GE Vernova's mission of electrifying the world while addressing the climate crisis.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and identify areas for improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Implement improvements to drive customer satisfaction and quality.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to enhance production quality.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive improvements in production areas.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of current standards and procedures regarding production equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline (Aeronautical, Aerospace, Chemical, Electrical, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering).
  • Must have one to two semesters left prior to graduation.
  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
  • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships.
  • Must be willing to work in the geographical area specified by the business.
  • Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.
