About the position

As a Gas Power Co-op/Intern at GE Vernova, you will be immersed in a dynamic environment focused on manufacturing and supply chain processes that are critical to delivering cleaner and more efficient energy solutions. This internship is designed to prepare you for a rewarding career in the energy sector, where you will tackle significant challenges related to energy accessibility and sustainability. You will engage in various manufacturing assignments that emphasize customer satisfaction, quality assurance, and productivity improvements. Your role will involve evaluating existing processes and identifying areas for enhancement, which may include implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive operational improvements in production areas. In addition to hands-on manufacturing experience, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to projects aimed at improving production quality and efficiency. You will also be expected to maintain and enhance your technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures related to the safe and effective use of production equipment. This internship will not only provide you with practical experience but also allow you to contribute to GE Vernova's mission of electrifying the world while addressing the climate crisis. The internship is scheduled for the summer of 2025, running from May to August, and will take place in one of several locations, including Greenville, South Carolina; Schenectady, New York; Atlanta, Georgia; or Richmond, Virginia. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into the energy sector while working for a company committed to innovation and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for processes and procedures that drive customer satisfaction, quality, fulfillment, and direct material productivity savings.
  • Evaluate and identify areas for improvement within a manufacturing environment and implement these improvements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve the quality of production areas.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive improvement in production areas.
  • Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of production equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline such as Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
  • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing to work in the geographical area specified by the business.
  • Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.
