About the position

As a Wind Manufacturing Co-op/Intern at GE Vernova, you will be immersed in the dynamic field of manufacturing and supply chain management, contributing to the urgent global mission of electrifying and decarbonizing the world. This internship is designed to prepare you for a rewarding career by engaging you in real-world challenges and providing hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for processes and procedures that drive customer satisfaction, quality, fulfillment, and direct material productivity savings. Your role will involve evaluating and identifying areas for improvement within the manufacturing processes and implementing these enhancements to optimize production efficiency. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you may work on various projects that require collaboration with cross-functional teams focused on improving the quality of production areas. You will have the opportunity to apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive improvements in the production area, enhancing your technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding the safe and effective use of production equipment. This internship will not only provide you with valuable experience but also allow you to contribute to meaningful projects that align with GE Vernova's commitment to sustainability and innovation in the renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for processes and procedures that drive customer satisfaction, quality, fulfillment, and direct material productivity savings.
  • Evaluate and identify areas for improvement within a manufacturing environment and implement these improvements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to focus on improving the quality of production areas.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive improvement through the production area.
  • Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of production equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline such as Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
  • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing to work in the geographical area specified by the business.
  • Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay ranging from $21.00/hr - $34.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed.
