About the position

As a GE9X High Pressure Turbine (HPT) Hardware Owner - Advanced Lead Engineer at GE Aviation, you will play a pivotal role in innovating the future of aviation technologies. Your contributions will be integral to the production of advanced jet engines, components, and integrated systems that power both commercial and military aircraft. In this role, you will execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to sound engineering principles and business standards. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of key business drivers and how your work integrates with other teams. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with various engineering organizations to contribute to the development of engine systems and designs, preparing and presenting technical data to both internal and external customers, and ensuring proper documentation of all technical data generated for your projects. You will also monitor and communicate project status to engineering leadership, providing timely updates on significant issues or developments. Participation in technical and program reviews as a presenter will be a key aspect of your role, showcasing your expertise and insights.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the technical discipline.
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Resolve issues in situations within current technical knowledge base and judgment within established procedures.
  • Monitor and communicate project status to Engineering leadership, providing timely communications on significant issues or developments.
  • Participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in a relevant engineering position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fundamental understanding of turbomachinery design.
  • Previous experience in design of Aviation components.
  • Proficient with Ansys and Unigraphics.
  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Documented experience of being a self-starter with a passion for problem solving and driving solutions.
