GEA's mission is to create a safe and challenging learning environment that emphasizes global awareness and leadership. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities that promote the overall academic and emotional growth of students, while reflecting the school's vision, mission, and charter. Teachers at GEA will manage classrooms that incorporate age-appropriate and culturally responsive classroom management practices. They will assess and monitor student achievement and growth using school assessment tools, ensuring that all student needs are met. The role requires the utilization of state standards to develop classroom curriculum and engage in meaningful professional development activities. Collaboration with other teachers to develop educational strategies is essential, as is the ability to demonstrate success working with children from diverse cultural, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Frequent communication with students, their families, colleagues, and other stakeholders is also a key responsibility of this position. The successful candidate will possess a California multi-subject credential, teaching experience with diverse student populations, and BCLAD/CLAD certification. They should have the ability to design and implement effective units and lessons, a solid knowledge of subject matter including California State Standards, and knowledge of effective instructional strategies for English Language Learners (ELLs). Exceptional interpersonal communication and writing skills are required, along with a willingness to take on additional responsibilities. Bilingual candidates in Korean or Spanish are preferred, as GEA offers a foreign language program in both languages. GEA is committed to developing citizens of the world who are successful leaders in both local and international communities. The school provides students with a variety of linguistic and cultural experiences, fostering a true understanding and respect for all people. Through a balanced curriculum that addresses academic, linguistic, social, physical, and emotional development, GEA aims to close the achievement gap and create a safe and challenging learning environment for students, parents, and faculty.
