Gel Coat Color Matching Specialist / Warehouse Associate

About the position

The Gel Coat Color Matching Specialist/Warehouse Associate at Fiberglass Hawaii Inc. is responsible for mixing gel coats, ensuring color accuracy, and performing various warehouse duties. This role involves collaboration with surfboard shapers, boat builders, and artists, providing an opportunity for skill development and career advancement in a family-owned business with a long-standing history in the composites industry.

Responsibilities

• Mix custom and stock gel coat according to formulas
• Properly discard leftover gel coat and solvents according to EPA standards
• Compare mixed gel coat color to sample to ensure proper color match
• Flag and track paint hours during the custom matching process
• Communicate with supervisors and coworkers about processes
• Order gel coat base, pigments, materials, and supplies
• Keep the mix room and other equipment clean
• Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize and organize work
• Load and unload containers, trucks, and shipments
• Repackage inventory items
• Determine work flow priorities with direction from Warehouse Supervisor
• Alert Warehouse Supervisor and Office Coordinator of low inventory levels
• Prepare packages for shipping via UPS, USPS, FedEx, LTL
• Fulfill order requests and help consolidate orders for shipping
• Assist with unloading deliveries and receiving items into inventory
• Open and close the warehouse, maintaining keys and alarm security
• Participate in overall cleanliness and organization of the warehouse
• Practice and act as a good example for all safety protocols
• Prepare warehouse for semi-annual inventory to increase efficiency
• Operate forklift as needed
