About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Computer Vision Data Scientist to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge computer vision models that will enhance our autonomous robots' capabilities. These robots are designed to capture millions of images daily, and the computer vision solutions you create will play a crucial role in identifying out-of-stock products, locating items, verifying price accuracy, and much more. Additionally, our computer vision systems will improve the member exit experience by detecting items in shopping carts. In this role, you will engage in extensive research and problem-solving across various domains, including computer vision, machine learning, image processing, and distributed computing. You will be responsible for the research and development of innovative algorithms for object detection, recognition, segmentation, and tracking. Your contributions will not only involve designing and implementing computer vision software systems tailored for retail business needs but also building scalable solutions to address complex recognition challenges in computer vision. Continuous improvement of existing algorithms will be a key focus area. As a technical lead in the vision area, you will collaborate closely with other data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and operations teams to deliver high-quality, high-performance solutions. You will also maintain a substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories related to computer vision, ensuring that our systems remain at the forefront of technology. Participation in premier conferences and community events will be encouraged to foster professional growth and networking opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct extensive research and problem-solving in computer vision, machine learning, image processing, and distributed computing.
  • Develop computer vision and machine learning algorithms for object detection, recognition, segmentation, and tracking.
  • Attend premier conferences and events to stay updated on industry trends.
  • Design, implement, and deliver computer vision software systems for retail business applications.
  • Build scalable solutions to address challenging recognition problems in computer vision.
  • Continuously improve the performance of existing algorithms.
  • Drive the design and development of computer vision algorithms and software applications on cloud or edge infrastructures.
  • Serve as a technical lead in the vision area, collaborating with data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in computer vision and related fields.
  • Postgraduate degree (Masters) in a relevant field is required.
