About the position

Randstad Digital is seeking a highly skilled Senior Computer Vision Data Scientist to join our team in Bentonville, Arkansas. This position is focused on developing cutting-edge computer vision models that will enhance our autonomous robots' capabilities. These robots capture millions of images daily, and the computer vision solutions we create will play a crucial role in identifying out-of-stock products, locating items, verifying price accuracy, and improving the overall member exit experience. The successful candidate will engage in extensive research and problem-solving across various domains, including computer vision, machine learning, image processing, and distributed computing. In this role, you will be responsible for the research and development of advanced computer vision and machine learning algorithms for tasks such as object detection, recognition, segmentation, and tracking. You will also have the opportunity to attend premier conferences and events within the community, allowing you to stay at the forefront of industry advancements. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and delivering computer vision software systems that facilitate retail business operations. You will build scalable solutions to address challenging recognition problems in computer vision and continuously improve the performance of existing algorithms. As a technical lead in the vision area, you will collaborate closely with other data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and operations teams to create high-quality, high-performance solutions. Maintaining substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories related to computer vision will be essential for success in this role. This position is a contract role with a competitive hourly rate of $75 to $80, and it requires a Master's degree along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct extensive research and problem-solving in computer vision, machine learning, image processing, and distributed computing.
  • Research and develop computer vision and machine learning algorithms for object detection, recognition, segmentation, and tracking.
  • Attend premier conferences and events in the community to stay updated on industry trends.
  • Design, implement, and deliver computer vision software systems to facilitate retail business operations.
  • Build scalable solutions to address challenging recognition problems in computer vision and improve existing algorithms.
  • Drive the design and development of computer vision algorithms and software applications on cloud or edge infrastructures.
  • Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories related to computer vision.
  • Serve as a technical lead in the vision area and collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and operations teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in computer vision and related fields.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
