About the position

The General Accountant or Purchasing position at Marriott involves managing food inventories, processing orders, and maintaining accurate records. Responsibilities

  • Calculate figures for food inventories, orders, and costs.
  • Maintain clear and organized records for reports and invoices.
  • Post invoices using computer programs.
  • Conduct inventory audits to determine inventory levels and needs.
  • Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies.
  • Notify manager/supervisor of low stock levels.
  • Verify and track received inventory and complete inventory reports and logs.
  • Reconcile shipping invoices and receiving reports for accuracy.
  • Receive, unload, and process deliveries.
  • Refuse acceptance of damaged or incorrect items.
  • Troubleshoot vendor delivery issues and oversee return processes.
  • Adhere to food safety and handling policies and procedures.
  • Monitor PAR levels for all food items.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects.
  • Enter and locate work-related information using computers or point of sale systems.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience.
