About the position

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join their growing team. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations within the company. The position involves hands-on responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for training and potential hybrid work arrangements after onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Manage and process accounts payable transactions for corporate entities.
• Lead the transition of IT and other departments to DocLink's workflow system.
• Oversee the check writing process for all company locations.
• Run reports and ensure timely and accurate sales and use tax filings.
• Perform regular reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with fixed asset management activities.
• Maintain and audit the Linksquare system.
• Contribute to various ad-hoc projects, including audit assistance and W9 preparation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business (or equivalent experience with a verified Certificate in Accounting).
• At least 3 years of accounting work experience.
• Basic understanding of the General Ledger and General Accounting Functions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Highly motivated and proactive with a willingness to engage with office personnel.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
