About the position

The Interim Accountant position at LHH Recruitment Solutions is a temporary role based in Hackensack, NJ, aimed at supporting the hospital's daily accounting functions, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, proficiency in GAAP, and experience in healthcare or similarly complex organizations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance reports.
• Support financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Monitor and review balance sheets, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation.
• Assist in maintaining grant-related accounting records and reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to provide supporting documentation.
• Analyze and interpret financial data to assist in decision-making.
• Support ad hoc projects as needed, including system implementations or process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or non-profit environments.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (ERP systems experience a plus).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
