About the position

The General Accountant at Pacific Fresh Cold Storage is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accounting records
• Prepare financial statements
• Make accruals and reserves as needed
• Ensure financial transactions are properly coded and recorded
• Reconcile bank statements
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and budget analysis
• Prepare weekly cash forecasts
• Prepare monthly and quarterly tax returns
• Maintain and reconcile state and federal taxes
• Knowledgeable of cost accounting and inventory controls

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 3 years of accounting experience
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Strong writing skills
• Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
• Ability to multi-task and organize and prioritize tasks
