About the position

The General and Operations Manager I position at the Florida Gaming Control Commission involves overseeing property asset management, supervising administrative staff, and managing contracts. The role is crucial for ensuring compliance with state regulations and efficient operation of the Commission's assets and resources.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Commission's front desk receptionist and runner.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the Property Asset Program.
  • Train employees on property asset policies and procedures.
  • Act as the agency receiver for ordered commodities at Headquarters.
  • Identify and tag property, adding information into the Property Asset Management System Database.
  • Collaborate with accounting and purchasing staff to ensure property accountability in databases.
  • Manage and document surplus property appropriately.
  • Conduct an annual inventory of tracked property.
  • Serve as Contract Manager for inmate labor agreements, scheduling labor and auditing invoices.
  • Assist with assembly and disassembly of office equipment and furniture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in property asset management with state government.
  • High School Diploma and three years of project management experience related to program implementation.
  • Two years of experience managing a project from beginning to completion.
  • Knowledge of Florida's property asset management policies and procedures.
  • Skill in operating personal computer software including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
