About the position

The New Vehicle Engineering Specialist is a technical expert responsible for overseeing assembly processes in the General Assembly Department of an automotive manufacturing environment. This role involves preparing process documents, modifying equipment, and analyzing production processes to ensure successful vehicle launches. The specialist will coordinate project activities, communicate with engineering teams, and continuously improve performance metrics related to safety, quality, and production efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical expert of assigned area during vehicle launches
  • Coordinate and lead project activities, including new equipment installation and supplier selection
  • Prepare specification packages after reviewing requirements such as Quality, Safety, UPH, Layout, and Ergonomics
  • Communicate with Advanced Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering Team in Korea and other relevant teams in R&D
  • Host video conferences for new vehicle design improvements and status follow-up meetings
  • Prepare Assembly Process Sheets with detailed pictures and text
  • Record tightening torque from install drawings and check bolt and nut quality
  • Determine Man Hour based on MODAPTS and optimize allocation
  • Analyze and continuously improve performance in safety, quality, production, cost, and human factors
  • Participate in Cross Functional Teams (CFT) and problem-solving teams as directed by Senior Management
  • Provide technical training and support to Team Members and Team Leaders
  • Support daily production issues as required
  • Review technical developments and propose new technology projects
  • Prepare presentations/reports on current projects and issues to management
  • Administer and comply with Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Experience in automotive machining processes and tooling capability
  • 0-10 years of job-related experience in an engineering/industrial environment
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with CATIA or similar CAD programs
