About the position

Lamp Rynearson, Inc. is seeking a General Aviation Project Manager to join its Transportation Group in Omaha, NE or Kansas City, MO. This role is pivotal in driving business growth by leveraging existing client relationships and developing new projects in the general aviation sector. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the aviation industry, including planning and grant applications, to effectively meet client objectives and address challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Drive business growth by leveraging existing relationships and developing new clients and projects in General Aviation.
  • Develop General Aviation Airport Master Plans and ALPs in conjunction with the Group Leader.
  • Assist in the development of provable construction cost estimates.
  • Perform site visits to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with contract documents as needed.
  • Travel to meet with clients, primarily in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri, with possible overnight stays.
  • Collaborate with project design teams on reports, specifications, permit applications, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with Project Construction Engineer during project design, bid, and construction phases.
  • Assist Construction Administration Department in negotiation and preparation of major change orders.
  • Make or assist in public presentations and lunch and learns.
  • Assist in project planning and scheduling with the Group Leader.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure deadlines are met in conjunction with the Group Leader.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, aviation airport management, or transportation planning from an accredited college or university.
  • 5+ years of General Aviation experience required.
  • Registered Professional Engineer licensure is a plus.
  • Knowledge of planning and grant applications, including FAA Advisory Circulars and FAA Airport Improvement Program Handbook.
  • Experience in research and development of new clients and projects in General Aviation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain client relationships.
  • Computer skills in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, capable of defining problems and identifying alternative solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver effective oral and written presentations.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ability to handle and coordinate multiple tasks and projects.
