About the position

The General Contractor/EPC Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager in coordinating construction projects at Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA. This role involves assisting with project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and project accounting, ensuring that deliverables meet the defined scope and budget. The Assistant PM will also maintain effective relationships with clients, project teams, and subcontractors while monitoring construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with compiling and distributing reports on all project phases and financial performance.
  • Cultivate and maintain effective relations with the Client, project team, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Support the Project Manager with developing the budget, schedule, and construction service plans for various elements of the project.
  • Monitor onsite construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Attend project meetings including pre-award, pre-construction, project progress and final close-out.
  • Work closely with PM and Superintendent to identify and allocate resources, including personnel and materials.
  • Track timelines, materials and progress according to schedule.
  • Participate in and monitor the procurement process, cost control, and change management systems.
  • Perform field inspections to verify quality and accuracy of construction as needed.
  • Uphold the core safety values of the company and collaborate with the EH&S Director to effectively communicate and enforce safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field highly preferred.
  • Two to four (2-4) years of experience with building construction, materials, systems, field work or similar required.
  • Detail oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Organized, problem-solver with ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous related work experience may substitute for education.
  • Previous experience with federal government contracting or federal construction activities is a plus.
