About the position

Gellert Global Group is seeking a General Counsel to lead its legal department based in Elizabeth, NJ. This role involves overseeing various legal matters including transactional law, data privacy, corporate governance, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, and labor and employment law. The General Counsel will be responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with data security regulations, and providing corporate governance support.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, customer, employment, technology, lease, and confidentiality agreements.
• Research and advise on data security and privacy compliance obligations, including GDPR and California Consumer Privacy Act.
• Prepare and revise corporate documents such as certificates of incorporation and bylaws.
• Develop corporate policies, procedures, guidelines, and legal templates.
• Assist with intellectual property applications and infringement monitoring.
• Conduct due diligence for regulatory compliance with business partners.
• Research and advise on special projects assigned by executive management.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor Degree
• Member in good standing of the NJ state bar
• 10 or more years of general corporate law experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel
• Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent research, project management, and communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage time-sensitive projects.
