About the position
Mid America Health is seeking a Part-Time General Dentist to join the School Smiles team, providing portable dental services to children in local schools. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work in a non-private practice setting, focusing on the dental care of underserved populations. The position requires working 2-3 days a week, with a strong emphasis on work/life balance and no weekend or evening hours.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive dental care during school clinic days
- Conduct initial screenings and comprehensive oral exams
- Establish treatment plans for patients
- Perform dental extractions, fillings, and stainless steel crowns
- Administer fluoride treatments and sealants
- Conduct prophylaxis (cleanings)
Requirements
- Active Michigan Dental License
- Current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers
- Proficiency in general dentistry procedures including extractions and fillings
- Medicaid certification or willingness to become certified
- Willingness to travel within a 2-hour radius
