About the position

EMIT Learning is seeking an experienced General Education Substitute Teacher to support students in grades PreK-8 at our school campus in Lake Bluff, IL, for the 2024-25 school year. This role is essential for ensuring continuity in student learning by implementing lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and fostering a positive educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure students continue their learning without interruption.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Foster literacy education through engaging activities that promote reading and writing skills.
• Support students in preschool settings, ensuring their developmental needs are met.
• Utilize effective classroom management techniques to handle various situations that may arise during class.
• Provide tutoring assistance as needed to help students grasp difficult concepts.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
