About the position

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, is seeking dedicated General Education Teachers for the Middle School Level to join a new program in Streamwood, Illinois. This role is pivotal in positively impacting the educational, behavioral, and social-emotional welfare of students, particularly those who are at-risk or struggling. As a General Education Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering instructional services in reading, mathematics, writing, and related areas. You will develop individualized lesson plans tailored to the skill levels of your students and ensure their supervision at all times. The role requires collaboration with school personnel to coordinate services for students and effective communication with parents regarding student progress. SESI values flexibility in work schedules and small group teaching environments, allowing teachers to grow professionally while making a significant impact on students' lives. The position requires attendance at training sessions, passing content assessments, and implementing designated instructional models and strategies. Teachers will maintain student records and inventory educational materials, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards. SESI provides all necessary classroom materials, lesson plans, and paid training, along with ongoing instructional and leadership support for all employees. Responsibilities

  • Attend training sessions and pass content assessments to deliver designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing skills.
  • Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.
  • Ensure supervision of students at all times, including escorting students safely to and from classrooms.
  • Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by the company and regulatory agencies.
  • Attend and document conferences, meetings, and trainings with supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents as required.
  • Maintain inventory of educational materials and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Illinois License to teach middle school general education students with MS endorsement required (pending and applied for accepted).
  • Must understand that all children can learn.
  • Demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward internal and external customers.
  • Flexibility in approach and teaching methods is essential.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching at the middle school level.
  • Background in special education or working with at-risk youth.
