About the position

The General Engineer/Industrial Engineer/Operations Research Analyst (Interdisciplinary) Lead position at the Washington Navy Yard involves leading a cost estimating and analysis team within the Strategic Systems Programs (SSP). The role requires serving as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to a team of professionals, and ensuring accurate cost estimates and analyses for various programs. The position emphasizes collaboration with technical managers and contractors to maintain accurate cost requirements and involves periodic updates and analysis of cost data.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a cost estimating and analysis team lead.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of cost estimating professionals.
  • Utilize resources to produce thorough and accurate estimates and analyses.
  • Maintain liaison with technical branch managers and engineers.
  • Conduct periodic cost model updates and analysis of new cost data.
  • Review and coordinate assigned cost estimating and analysis products.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13) grade level.
  • Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in engineering or operations research, or equivalent experience.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI) or Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Experience in leading or executing life-cycle cost estimates for national security acquisitions.
