About the position

In this role, you will serve as a project manager and expert advisor, applying advanced concepts, principles, and processes for life cycle engineering and management of various systems, subsystems, and equipment. Your primary responsibilities will include planning, managing, and coordinating engineering development programs and projects that involve continuous systems modification, system requirement evaluation, and performance analysis. You will lead the availabilities through the certification process to ensure the final product is delivered back to the Fleet. Additionally, you will participate in Technical Analysis Reviews (TARs) to support government contract proposal evaluations and manage Deviations from Specifications (DFSs) during the Engineering Overhaul (EOH). Your role will also involve reviewing Observable Quality Evidence (OQE) of work accomplished and overseeing the activities of your team with a focus on project and program issues. You will be tasked with developing plans and techniques to adapt to new situations, improving overall program policies, and implementing innovative approaches to resolve unusual or difficult issues that significantly impact the program. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level/pay band NH-02 (GS-11) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer.
  • Successful completion of a professional engineering degree or equivalent qualifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
