About the position

The NAS Implementation Manager serves as the primary liaison for the District or Service Area to various stakeholders, including Headquarters, Program Offices, airport user groups, and government entities. This role focuses on the implementation and integration of National Airspace System (NAS) projects and activities, ensuring effective communication and coordination among technical and air traffic operations. The manager is responsible for overseeing complex projects, providing operations advocacy, and ensuring that NAS modernization efforts align with organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Plan and accomplish complex projects and programs with minimal direction.
• Act as a principal technical specialist or project manager for large work activities.
• Coordinate NAS implementation and integration efforts between technical and air traffic operations.
• Provide operations advocacy for critical NAS maintenance and infrastructure.
• Review and analyze engineering plans and specifications for NAS modernization projects.
• Assist in preparing risk mitigation plans and develop comments on maintainability issues.
• Analyze impacts of proposed projects on NAS operations and monitor for conflicts.
• Prepare briefings and presentations for project prioritization within the Tech Ops District.
• Define, organize, and assign resources to meet organizational objectives.
• Validate Life Cycle Management needs and coordinate with various staff for project establishment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Professional Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent coursework in engineering science or physics.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I (FG/GS-13) in NAS project implementation and integration.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working collaboratively with HQ, program offices, and government agencies on NAS projects.
• Strong communication skills for presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
