About The Position

The National Science Foundation is seeking qualified candidates for a General Engineer (Program Director) position within the Directorate for Engineering (ENG), Division of Chemical, Bioengineering, Environmental, and Transport Systems (CBET) in Alexandria, VA. The CBET Program Officer for Partnership Development works with Division management, including the Division Director and Deputy Division Director, Program Officers, and program administrative staff in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in an Engineering field plus six or more years of successful research, research administration, and/or managerial experience pertinent to the position OR a Master's degree in an engineering field plus eight or more years of successful research, research administration, and/or managerial experience pertinent to the position.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership on a vision for targeting new partnership opportunities.
  • Lead new initiatives for international, inter-governmental, industrial and corporate and cross-foundation partnerships aligned with CBET mission and vision.
  • Work with Program Director in Integrative Activities and Analysis and the ENG Partnerships lead to assess existing partnerships for expansion capability.
  • Support Program Directors throughout CBET with partnership ideas and ensure they are connected with internal resources to support their partnership work.
  • Work with Program Director in Integrative Activities and Analysis to assess the value add for new partnerships and contribute to the design multi-year assessments of partnership impacts.
  • Work with ENG Partnerships lead to identify new partnership opportunities, to engage with possible new partners and to 'close the deal' on agreements.
  • Work with the TIP Partnerships office to ensure new partnerships engage CBET/ENG and TIP together where appropriate.
  • Serve on interagency and cross-agency working groups to re-imagine partnership opportunities for CBET, ENG, and the agency.
