About the position

The General Foreman (Fiber) at Thayer Power & Communication is responsible for providing organizational leadership, operational direction, and business development for fiber projects. This role involves assigning work priorities, developing job plans, and ensuring the execution of projects with a focus on safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction. The General Foreman will oversee project resources, manage crew activities, and maintain effective communication with customers and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Review Job Site Analysis (JSA) for crews and provide feedback daily.
• Conduct safety briefings with all crews, including subcontractors.
• Perform weekly Job Site Observations (JSO) for crews and subcontractors.
• Review crew timesheets for billing accuracy each morning.
• Ensure daily submissions from subcontractors are accurate and timely.
• Create and submit accurate redlines of all work performed by crews.
• Track and gain written approval for all change orders from customers.
• Update daily logs to reflect all work and submit to customers.
• Handle escalations and provide customer responses within 24 hours.
• Prioritize work to meet deadlines and manage job productivity.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in the field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience supervising a crew.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean MVR.
• Strong organizational, planning, and scheduling skills.
• Knowledge of standard industry practices and scheduling processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with construction cost control processes.
