About the position
The General Kitchen Worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety in all kitchen areas at Women & Infants Hospital. This role involves daily cleaning tasks, equipment maintenance, food storage, and providing assistance in various kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas including floors and equipment.
- Clean larger kitchen equipment according to a set schedule.
- Perform duties in the dishroom, ensuring proper sanitation.
- Receive and store food items properly to maintain safety standards.
- Assist in the patient service area as needed.
- Provide general assistance throughout the food and nutrition department.
Requirements
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Dexterity to handle china and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to lift, move, and carry boxes and trays weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in the English language.
