About the position
The General Labor I - Utility position at Hearthside Food Solutions involves maintaining cleanliness and organization in the production area, ensuring product quality, and supporting various tasks as directed by the Line Supervisor. This role is essential for upholding the company's standards of safety and quality in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain general housekeeping in the production area.
- Identify acceptable or unacceptable product quality per customer requirements before and after packing.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Perform assignments on all lines as specified by the Line Supervisor.
- Transport trash to the proper area and take designated supplies to the line.
- Perform required housekeeping tasks such as sweeping floors and disposing of trash.
- Visually identify product quality before it is placed on the line and remove unacceptable products.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.'s) at all times.
- Communicate instructions and problems to co-workers and supervisors.
- Comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and independently at times.
- Forklift training license.
