About the position

The General Labor position at R-Tech Tool and Machine involves performing a variety of tasks related to manufacturing and shop maintenance under supervision. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and efficient handling of materials and equipment to support production needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner and comply with company policies.
• Determine the uses of personal protective equipment (PPE) and identify safety equipment and procedures related to safe work practices.
• Load and unload materials, parts, or products onto or from pallets, skids, conveyors, or trucks manually or using a forklift.
• Use the MRP system to clock in and out of jobs upon set-up and completion.
• Lift up to 50 pounds frequently as part of job duties.
• Remove burrs or excess metal from machined parts using files, sandpaper, emery cloth, or grinding tools.
• Add coolant to reservoirs of machines and lubricate machine parts using grease gun and oilcan.
• Reclaim cutting and lubricating oils from machines and drain clean oil into containers.
• Remove metal chips and shavings from surfaces of machines and clean work areas using broom and shovel.
• Separate metal shavings, chips, and scrap materials from trash and place them in bins for resale.
• Change filters on all equipment and HVAC units.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of manufacturing experience is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with MRP systems is a plus.
