About the position

As a General Laborer at Packaging Corporation of America (PCA), you will play a crucial role in supporting our manufacturing operations. This position is essential for increasing productivity while minimizing downtime and waste. You will work as part of a dedicated team, contributing to various tasks on the plant floor, which may include assisting in all jobs related to plant and facilities operations. Your commitment to safety is paramount, and you will be expected to adhere to all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures. Maintaining the shop and shop equipment according to 5S standards is also a key responsibility. This role may require you to stack parts weighing up to 30 lbs for extended periods, potentially up to 12 hours, depending on operational needs. Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team in support of a manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity; decreasing downtime and waste.
  • Assume active role in overall plant and facilities-related work, assisting all jobs on the plant floor.
  • Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.
  • Maintain shop and shop equipment per 5S Standards.
  • Stack parts up to 30 lbs. for a period of up to 12 hours as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Willingness to work second or third shift.
  • Good attendance record.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Understanding that temperatures and volumes of work may vary.
