About the position
The position involves responding to departmental maintenance needs, executing repairs or replacements of equipment, and maintaining the appearance of facility grounds. The role also includes monitoring and operating pool and aquatic equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality, and documenting all activities accurately. The individual will perform essential duties related to maintenance and repairs while adhering to safety and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Respond to assigned departmental maintenance needs.
- Execute repairs or replacements of affected equipment in assigned area.
- Maintain the appearance of facility grounds including lawns, trees, shrubs, and plant beds.
- Monitor, repair, and operate all utilities related to pool and aquatic equipment.
- Ensure all pools are in good, clean working condition.
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and complete corrective maintenance in a timely manner.
- Document all activities in a daily log book.
- Perform general repairs and troubleshooting.
- Conduct daily maintenance inspections and repairs in assigned area.
- Perform daily cleaning of assigned areas.
- Operate, repair, maintain, and clean mechanical equipment for pool operation.
- Utilize effective judgment and decision-making skills when performing job duties.
- Adhere to company policies and complete Preventive Maintenance inspections according to schedule.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with proper use of hand and power tools under minimal or no supervision required.
- 5 years of maintenance experience preferred, including knowledge of health codes for swimming pools and safety procedures for handling toxic chemicals.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of information required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and various software packages specific to the role required.
- Strong interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve equipment issues required.
- Ability to multitask required.
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC-R required.
- Ability to read, write, and understand basic blueprints required.
