The General Laborer works in varying aspects of the construction field. This role involves ensuring a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA, State regulations, and all safety policies and procedures. The General Laborer will report any problems and/or safety hazards to the foreman or, in their absence, the crew lead or Superintendent or Safety Officer. Responsibilities include identifying utility lines, taking initiative in setting up and cleaning up the work site, and ensuring all tools and equipment are cleaned and properly stored. The position requires bolting, nailing, aligning, and moving materials, signaling operators of construction equipment, carrying construction materials, digging holes and trenches, leveling dirt or materials, assisting with pipe sections, mixing and pouring concrete, and various other construction-related tasks. The General Laborer will also assist in the placement and dismantling of traffic control devices, clean job sites, and attend training sessions as required.
