About the position

This position involves performing a variety of general tasks in a manufacturing or shop environment, focusing on safety and compliance with company policies. The role requires the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safe work practices while handling materials and operating machinery.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner and comply with company policies.
• Determine the uses of personal protective equipment (PPE) and identify safety equipment and procedures related to safe work practices.
• Complete work using the MRP Network.
• Load and unload materials, parts, or products onto or from pallets, skids, conveyors, or trucks manually or using a forklift.
• Use the MRP system to clock in and out of jobs upon set-up and completion.
• Lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Remove burrs or excess metal from machined parts using files, sandpaper, emery cloth, or grinding tools.
• Add coolant to reservoirs of machines and lubricate machine parts and ways using grease gun and oilcan.
• Reclaim cutting and lubricating oils from machines by pumping oil from machine reservoir into barrel and draining clean oil from separator into containers.
• Remove metal chips and shavings from surfaces of machines using rag or air hose and wipe surfaces of machines to remove excess oil and coolant residue.
• Clean around work areas using broom and shovel.
• Separate metal shavings, chips, and scrap materials from trash and place them in bins for resale.
• Change filters on all equipment and HVAC units.
• Maintain general knowledge of R-Tech's staging locations for parts in process and finished parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to perform tasks safely and responsibly.
• Knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety procedures.
• Experience with MRP systems for job tracking.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Familiarity with cleaning and maintenance of machinery.
