About the position

The General Ledger Accountant will be a key member of a collaborative accounting team, reporting to the Senior General Ledger Accountant. This role is essential in preparing timely and accurate financial reports while ensuring adherence to accounting control procedures. The position involves supporting the monthly close process, preparing journal entries, and maintaining the integrity of financial outputs within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and complete account reconciliations.
• Support the month-end and quarter-end close processes.
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Calculate and file monthly sales and use tax returns.
• Assist with documentation and support for internal and external audits.
• Complete accounting assignments with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop positive relationships with key internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Work towards a higher degree or CPA certification.
• Point of sale reconciliation experience.
