About the position
The General Machinist position involves operating various machine tools to manufacture precision components according to detailed specifications. The role emphasizes attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to health and safety standards, providing an opportunity for skill advancement in tool and fixture design/build processes.
Responsibilities
- Build Inspection Fixtures/Details to detail drawings and specifications in an efficient and timely manner.
- Operate various Machine Tools to build details and hold tolerances of ±.0005.
- Program and operate CNC lathe.
- Housekeeping.
- Ensuring that Health & Safety standards are maintained.
Requirements
- 2-5 years as a General Machinist (Vertical Mill, Surface Grinder, Metal Lathe, Bandsaw).
- Drafting and Blueprint Reading.
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
- Welding (TIG & MIG) would be an asset.
