About the position

RDE Maintenance Services is seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish) Maintenance Technician to provide maintenance support for offsite properties, including apartment communities and single-family homes. The role involves performing various maintenance tasks while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, with a focus on maintaining the buildings and common areas in optimal condition.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems, including replacing light bulbs and sockets, and cleaning circuit breaker panels.
• Assist in the setup and repair of ventilation, refrigeration, and other systems as needed.
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
• Inspect alarm systems and schedule repairs when necessary.
• Perform manual repairs, such as fixing locks and replacing windows.
• Conduct pest control activities, including spraying insecticide.
• Carry out general upkeep procedures, including landscaping and portering, as well as other assigned tasks like painting and carpentry.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician.
• Basic understanding of electrical and other systems.
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
• Good physical condition and strength, with a willingness to work overtime.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a relevant field is a plus.
• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is preferred.
• Bilingual - must speak, write, and read fluently in English and Spanish.
