The Maintenance Worker at Sodexo Operations Inc. is responsible for fixing and maintaining machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings. This role involves a variety of tasks including painting, repairing flooring, and working on plumbing, electrical, and air-conditioning and heating systems. In emergency situations, the Maintenance Worker may be called upon to support necessary tasks associated with the emergency. The general responsibilities of the position include performing maintenance service or repairs in one or more skill areas, such as minor plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, and electrical repairs or installations. The Maintenance Worker will also perform tasks such as changing light bulbs, installing paper dispenser units, changing filters, and changing locks on doors. Other responsibilities include cleaning and lubricating parts, identifying and correcting unsafe working conditions with management oversight, and attending training programs as designated. Compliance with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures is essential, and the worker is expected to report all accidents and injuries promptly. Participation in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments is also required. Additional duties may include snow removal, grounds keeping activities, assisting skilled trade workers, and coordinating work activities of General Maintenance Apprentices. The Maintenance Worker may also be required to inventory equipment, parts, and supplies, and may perform other duties as assigned. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of facilities and maintaining a safe and functional environment for all employees and clients.
