About the position

The General Maintenance Worker at Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on equipment and buildings at the Orchard Combat Training Center. This role requires practical skills in various trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. The worker will support the operation of the Digital Air-Ground Integration Range (DAGIR) and ensure that facilities are maintained to meet the needs of military training operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings.
  • Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
  • Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings using plaster or compound.
  • Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
  • Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles.
  • Replace broken window panes.
  • Hang doors and install door locks.
  • Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair facilities and installed mechanical equipment.
  • Operate machines such as band saws, drill presses, and circular saws in support of maintenance requirements.
  • Record work on required work order forms.
  • Perform other duties as required and directed by the Project Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Five (5) or more years' experience in maintenance and repair of facilities.
  • Ability to perform work using carpentry, masonry, painting, plumbing, welding, and locksmith skills.
  • Current First Aid card or capability to pass the required standard.
  • Ability to operate and speak clearly over military hand-held radios and telephones.
  • Ability to lift and carry boxes and packages, not to exceed 100lbs.
  • Ability to operate a four-wheeled drive vehicle, ½ to 1 ton.
  • Familiarity with power hand tools and heavy equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand plans, schematics, specifications, codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Current Driver's License required; must be insurable through the company's vehicle insurance policy.
