About the position

FSI would like to hire a general maintenance worker to join our team. This position performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, and HVAC work at Buckley Space Force Base. The role is essential in ensuring that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards, providing a safe and functional environment for all users. The general maintenance worker will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include replacing belts and filters on air handling units, utilizing plaster/compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, and repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets. Additionally, the worker will paint structures and equipment as required, inspect and repair damaged interior infrastructure surfaces, and perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery as assigned. The position also involves following the company's safety, health, and accident prevention plan while maintaining records in a timely fashion. Light electrical work is part of the job, which includes replacing fluorescent light bulbs, egress lighting, light switches, and electrical plugs. The worker should have light locksmith knowledge to replace handles, locks, and door closures. Physical demands include the ability to lift 50 lbs, push, pull, and bend, as well as hang whiteboards, sharps containers, soap dispensers, and paper towel dispensers. Light floor tile, masonry, and concrete work may also be required. This role is crucial for maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces and assisting others as part of the maintenance team as required.

Responsibilities

  • Replaces belts and filters on air handling units.
  • Utilizes plaster/compound to patch minor holes/cracks in walls and ceilings.
  • Repairs and replaces sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
  • Paints structures and equipment as required.
  • Inspects and repairs damaged interior infrastructure surfaces as needed.
  • Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery as assigned.
  • Follows company's safety, health, and accident prevention plan while maintaining records in a timely fashion.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to pass a local background check and have the ability to obtain and maintain NACI/LAC clearance after hire.
  • Must be drug-free and able to pass a drug test.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and insurable driving record.
