About the position

The General Maintenance Worker (GMW) is responsible for maintaining, servicing, and conducting minor repairs on facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at various sites. This role involves performing a variety of semiskilled duties across multiple trades, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and painting, while assisting other maintenance personnel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, services, and conducts minor repairs on facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at various sites.
• Performs a variety of semiskilled duties in plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, painting, and grounds maintenance.
• Assists Maintenance Mechanics, HVAC Technicians, and other workers with their tasks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Practical skill and knowledge in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
• Ability to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings using plaster or compound.
• Experience in repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
• Skills in painting structures and equipment.
• Experience in repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
• Ability to replace damaged paneling and floor tiles.
• Experience in hanging doors and installing door locks.
• Skills in replacing broken window panes.
