About the position

The General Maintenance position is responsible for maintaining facilities and equipment to ensure that there is no disruption to the instructional program. The role involves a variety of tasks related to the upkeep and repair of building systems and equipment, ensuring a safe and functional environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair building envelope and interior building systems, including fire extinguishers, athletic equipment, lockers, marker boards, projector screens, and personal hygiene equipment.
• Maintain and repair resilient and ceramic floor and wall tile.
• Maintain and repair restroom partitions and hardware.
• Install, maintain, and repair interior and exterior signage.
• Maintain and repair exterior facility systems, including fences, playground equipment, paved areas, flag poles, and athletic equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on general maintenance equipment and systems.
• Perform regular scheduled inspections of facilities and building systems.
• Utilize maintenance management system to receive and complete work orders, accurately record labor and materials costs, and maintain inventory of parts and tools.
• Assist other maintenance personnel as needed and directed by supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the superintendent or designee.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or General Equivalency Diploma.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Minimum 5 years' General Maintenance experience.
• Demonstrated abilities to work with tools and a wide range of basic understanding of building maintenance.
