About the position

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for directing and managing the daily operations of a retail automotive service store. This role focuses on achieving operational efficiency, developing staff professionally, and maximizing profitability while adhering to company guidelines and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Open and/or close the store and maintain a clean and attractive store appearance.
  • Interview and acquire staff based on store needs, ensuring proper training and certification of employees.
  • Manage staff by assigning work posts, scheduling work hours, evaluating job performance, and providing disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Responsible for financial performance, looking for opportunities to grow the business and improve profitability, customer retention, and net sales.
  • Manage cash and credit card activities, reconcile register receipts and cash charge slips, and make bank deposits.
  • Prepare paperwork associated with cash receipts, sales statistics, and employee records.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent shrinkage, order and receive supplies.
  • Direct and participate in customer service functions, including greeting customers and resolving complaints.
  • Direct and participate in automotive maintenance services along with Technicians.
  • Enforce safety rules and maintain compliance with OSHA and Federal and State Environmental Regulations.

Requirements

  • Valid US Driver's License.
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior Retail Service Management experience in relevant fields (Automotive, Fast Food, Retail Sales, etc.).
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Prior experience with Key Performance Indicators in retail sales growth.
  • Ability to perform the responsibilities of the job and manage budgets.
  • Ability to communicate in English (written and orally).
  • Efficiently use the internet and computers, and complete documents on tracking forms.
  • Able to stand for an extended period and occasionally lift over 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, crawl, and climb stairs.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
