About the position

As the General Manager at Gap, you will lead your team to deliver a profitable store business plan, ensuring that the store meets or exceeds key performance metrics. You will be responsible for driving sales growth through effective customer operations, merchandising, product operations, and talent development. Your role will involve coaching your team to provide a best-in-class customer experience while implementing the brand's vision in the store.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze results, identify opportunities, and make decisions in collaboration with the leadership team to drive key performance indicators.
  • Drive profitable sales through forecasting and scheduling.
  • Manage store budget for daily operations in support of the P&L.
  • Build highly productive teams through sourcing, selecting, and developing people.
  • Accountable for team performance through coaching and feedback.
  • Teach and train to build capabilities within the team.
  • Lead the implementation and execution of all Standard Operating Procedures and initiatives.
  • Create an inclusive environment within the store.
  • Implement action plans to maximize efficiencies and productivity.
  • Perform Service Leader duties and represent the brand while understanding competitors.
  • Promote community involvement and leverage OMNI to deliver a frictionless customer experience.
  • Ensure all compliance standards are met.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of retail experience leading others.
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and employees.
  • Ability to maneuver around sales floor, stock room, and office; work around and with chemicals; lift/carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including travel, to meet the needs of the business including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Established time management skills.
  • Strong planning and prioritization skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail management or leadership roles.
  • Knowledge of merchandising and product operations.
