About the position

The General Manager at Devon Self Storage will oversee all aspects of store operations, ensuring effective management of revenue, safety, security, customer service, and compliance with state and federal regulations. This role requires a strong focus on customer service and operational excellence, with responsibilities split between two locations in Clarksville and Old Hickory, TN.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the store is open, closed, and secured each business day.
• Meet and exceed sales objectives through unit rentals, insurance protection, and retail sales.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, customers, and visitors.
• Coach and lead teammates to meet or exceed company KPI goals.
• Train employees on safety practices and enforce compliance.
• Resolve customer concerns and manage work orders and repair requests.
• Manage payments, handle cash, and ensure timely bank deposits.
• Oversee the security of company assets and the functionality of equipment.
• Ensure timely ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and displaying of products.
• Partner with auction vendors and the Regional Director throughout the auction process.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to problem solve and resolve conflicts
• Ability to regularly perform indoors and outdoors with exposure to adverse environmental conditions
• Ability to lift up to 30lbs
• Reliable transportation to and from work

Nice-to-haves

• Associate degree or bachelor's degree in business management or related fields
• 2-3 years of related experience in retail, real estate, rental property management, logistics, e-commerce, construction, insurance, or hospitality
