About the position

The General Manager of Retail at Applegreen is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and profitability of a convenience retail store located within a travel plaza. This role involves leading a dedicated team to meet financial and performance targets while ensuring high standards of customer satisfaction and food quality. The General Manager will also foster a positive work culture, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall day-to-day operations and profitability of the retail store.
• Lead the team to achieve or exceed sales, speed of service, customer satisfaction, and food quality metrics.
• Maintain operating budgets, inventory controls, and food and labor costs.
• Ensure compliance with planograms, pricing, marketing, and food safety guidelines.
• Recruit, develop, and retain a strong team to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Monitor and enforce cash handling policies and procedures.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues in a professional manner.
• Collaborate with support partners such as Brand Partners, Human Resources, and Finance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience as a supervisor or unit-level manager in a quick service restaurant.
• Ability to operate in and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated team management, delegation, and issue resolution skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• ServSafe Certification.
