About the position

The General Manager (Business Operations Leader) will oversee the Transportation Business Center in California, Washington, Hawaii, and Alaska, focusing on expanding the company's presence in the regional transportation market. This role involves managing business center operations, ensuring financial performance, and fostering a high-performance culture while leading a team of professionals in delivering innovative transportation solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Transportation Business Center in operational, financial, and technical excellence.
• Ensure high performance of the business center, including financial, business development, operational, and employee performance.
• Review monthly financial statements and address any issues.
• Monitor forecasting, backlog, work in progress, accounts receivable, and staff utilization.
• Oversee risk management practices related to office matters.
• Participate in proposal preparation and fee estimate development.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and oversee the business center budget.
• Identify underperformance and develop improvement plans.
• Ensure efficient resource management responsive to workloads.
• Monitor health and safety performance within the business center.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of 15 years of related work experience.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and people skills in managing large professional teams.
• General understanding of the transportation marketplace in California, Washington, Hawaii, and Alaska.
• Well-developed written communication skills for technical reports and proposals.
• Proven ability to articulate vision and engage staff effectively.
• Experience with conventional and alternate forms of project delivery.
