About the position
The General Manager/Business Unit Manager at Eurofins is responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory policies, and maintaining a positive operating margin. This role involves leading a team, managing technical activities, and fostering professional development while contributing to the financial growth and strategic direction of the company.
Responsibilities
- Lead team, schedule, and train employees
- Ensure adherence to highest quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operations
- Ensure coverage and performance
- Foster morale and teamwork
- Demonstrate and promote the company vision
- Manage the technical conduct, quality control, and related record keeping of all analytical evaluations performed
- Supervise, organize, and coordinate all technical activities of personnel
- Provide planning, organization, direction, and control to meet company goals
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental programs
- Establish and maintain professional business relationships with clients and industry officials
- Assist in generating marketing strategies and preparing technical work proposals
- Coordinate business activities with other Business Unit Managers
- Oversee daily operations including laboratory, quality, logistics, and managerial duties
- Represent the laboratory in technical meetings
- Participate with Sales/Marketing in preparing quotations for major technical studies
- Propose major investments to company executives
- Analyze monthly laboratory indicators and verify compliance with employment policies
- Perform annual performance reviews for direct reporting personnel
Requirements
- Less than High School education
- Experience in laboratory management or related field preferred

- Experience in analytical testing services
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance in laboratory settings
