About the position

The General Manager will lead and inspire a dedicated team at a premier cannabis retail location in Saint Petersburg, FL. This role focuses on driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and delivering a top-tier customer experience. The General Manager will oversee daily operations, manage staff performance, and shape the culture of the retail operation to achieve sales and revenue targets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, development, and performance management of key staff, including Assistant Managers, Managers on Duty, and Budtenders.
  • Drive operational excellence across all aspects of location management, ensuring smooth daily functioning.
  • Execute marketing initiatives that reflect the company's brand and enhance location visibility.
  • Celebrate team successes and foster an environment of recognition and motivation.
  • Set and achieve location-specific goals related to sales, revenue, and operational performance.
  • Oversee compliance with all industry regulations and company policies at the location.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and operational integrity.
  • Manage the location's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost control.
  • Monitor financial performance, including P&L reports, payroll, and overhead management.
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges and implement solutions swiftly.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between the retail team and corporate leadership.
  • Maintain excellent customer service levels and ensure a positive experience for all visitors.
  • Provide recommendations and insights to senior management as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of proven leadership experience in high-volume retail environments, with a focus on team management and operational oversight.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of budgeting, financial management, and performance tracking.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities and sound decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A detail-oriented mindset with a solution-focused approach to problem-solving.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cannabis industry experience is required.
