About the position

The General Manager for Capitol Bikeshare at Lyft is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing the Capital Bikeshare program across the Washington, D.C. metro area. This position involves overseeing operational excellence, regional strategy, growth, service quality, and partnerships with local governments. The General Manager will also engage in cross-functional initiatives and contribute to process improvements, making it a critical role in shaping the vision and execution of sustainable transportation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Own operational execution for Capital Bikeshare to meet contract requirements and business objectives
  • Manage multiple subcontractors, including a large 3rd party operations partner
  • Lead a team and provide leadership guidance to an expanded group of cross-functional market support
  • Collaborate with local government program leadership to deliver outstanding micromobility that meets shared objectives for growth
  • Work cross-functionally to build and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor performance
  • Create playbooks, metrics, and contingency plans to govern day-to-day operations
  • Synthesize market feedback and recommendations for HQ business, product, and engineering teams
  • Partner with senior operations leaders, finance, supply chain, science, and product/engineering to advance the strategy and infrastructure to scale markets

Requirements

  • 6+ years of operations or strategy experience
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a get-it-done attitude
  • Experience working with the public sector
  • Experience managing a team with a wide variety of skills and roles
  • Quantitative by nature and obsessed with process improvement
  • Experience working cross-functionally across large organizations
  • Experience with urban transit and micro-mobility is a strong plus
